**VCA Yucca Valley Animal Hospital** is looking for a **Veterinary Assistant** **Location:** 57185 29 Palms Hwy, Yucca Valley, CA 92284 **Wage range:** $17.00-$22.00 **Schedule:** 4-day, 10-hour shift with alternating Saturdays **_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:_** + Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility preferred. + Must be friendly, outgoing, and "people-oriented." + Excellent communication skills. + Telephone and computer skills are necessary. + Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept change. **_Physical Requirements:_** + Dependable attendance is required. + Must be able to lift 40 pounds. + This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during an 8-hour day. **The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:** + Physical examinations and patient assessment + Anesthesia monitoring + Surgical preparation and assisting + Dentistry + Radiology + Laboratory work + Venipuncture + Catheter placement + Pharmacy + Patient recovery + Client Communication + Compassionate care of our hospitalized animals VCA Animal Hospitals offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, pet care discounts, paid vacation, holidays, and sick days, health and well-being programs that provide resources and training.
