Job Title:  Jr Big Data Developer
Location:   Irving, TX /Chandler, AZ- Hybrid
Duration: 24 months contract with potential to extend
Only on W2
Pay range: $43-$46/hr on W2
Job Overview:
In this contingent resource assignment, the candidate will participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within Software Engineering. The role involves reviewing and analyzing basic or tactical Software Engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives related to low-to-medium risk deliverables. The candidate will present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations and exercise some independent judgment while developing an understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Additionally, the candidate will provide information to client personnel in Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze basic or tactical Software Engineering assignments or challenges requiring research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives.
• Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations.
• Exercise independent judgment while developing an understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Provide information to client personnel in Software Engineering.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience working in Spark, Hadoop, and Big Data environments.
• 2+ years of experience with Spark SQL, Streaming, and data frame/dataset API.
• 2+ years of experience with Spark query tuning and performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of Hadoop/Cloud platforms, HDFS, ETL/ELT processes, and Unix shell scripting.
• 2+ years of experience with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL & NoSQL database integration with Spark (e.g., MS SQL Server and MongoDB).
• 2+ years of Agile experience.

Desired Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems (e.g., CAP theorem, partitioning, bucketing, replication, memory layouts, consistency).
• 2+ years of microservices development experience.
• 2+ years of experience building cloud-ready enterprise solutions in one or more of the following: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
• 1+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Enterprise.
• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.

Pay Range: $43- $46/HR on W2
