  • **Salary:

    **Targeted

    at $110,000

  • **Hours:

    ** Will be mostly days but we are looking for someone who can be flexible in working all shifts. Weekends are a must. And flexibility to have some night activities on occasion.

  • **Responsibility:

    **Will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing all sanitation protocols within our manufacturing facilities. Will collaborate with production, quality control and maintenance to enforce sanitation standards, conduct regular inspections and continue to improve our sanitation process. Lead sanitation trainings for employees and manager, do risk assessments, lead audits and schedule all sanitation activities.

  • **Team:

    **1 manager, 80 people, 3 leads- 1 lead per shift.

  • **Must:

    **Food (minimum of 3 years), Spanish, Audits, Risk Assessments, Building/enhancing sanitation SOP’s

  • Current challenge: Looking for someone who has experience turning around sanitation departments. This individual will be responsible for continuous development of the team as well as really putting structure in the department when it comes to SSOP's. Looking for someone who has similar experience managing bigger teams (80+ people)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sanitation Manager to oversee all sanitation activities within our food manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic production environment, and supporting the overall quality and safety of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food safety, sanitation procedures, and regulatory compliance in a food manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Sanitation Programs: Create and manage sanitation schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that meet or exceed regulatory and company standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA, GMP, HACCP).

  • Supervise Sanitation Team: Lead, train, and mentor sanitation personnel across all shifts; ensure appropriate staffing and coverage for sanitation activities.

  • Maintain Compliance: Ensure facility cleanliness meets internal and external audit standards. Prepare for and participate in audits from regulatory agencies and third-party certifiers.

  • Conduct Inspections: Regularly inspect equipment, production areas, and facility infrastructure to verify cleanliness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Chemical and Equipment Management: Oversee the proper use, storage, and documentation of cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.

  • Recordkeeping: Maintain detailed records of sanitation activities, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance documentation.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure seamless integration of sanitation practices without disrupting production efficiency.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in sanitation practices to increase efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing environment, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC, etc.), sanitation chemicals, and cleaning procedures.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management skills

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and sanitation/quality management systems
