THE COMPANY

Our client is an innovative manufacturer specializing in high-end architectural and design-focused products. And they are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead daily production and continuous improvement activities at their Sonoma facility. THE POSITION

The Scheduler/ Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment. This role acts as a critical link
between operations, procurement, engineering, and customer experience teams-balancing material availability, production capacity, and customer delivery requirements. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex data to proactively resolve scheduling conflicts. Success in this role ensures minimal downtime, maximized throughput, and high on-time delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and Maintain Production Schedule
  • Monitoring Shop Order Releases and Closure.
  • Track and Prioritize Orders
  • Development and Report Scheduling Metrics
  • Resolve Scheduling Conflicts
  • Participate in Daily Scrum Meetings
  • Coordinate Cross-Functionally between production, procurement, engineering, inventory
  • control, logistics and customer experience
  • Monitor Capacity and Lead Times
  • Support New Product Launches and Changes
  • Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of system data.
  • Oversee inventory management analyst.
  • Oversee the BOM team and manage their workload .
  • Monthly evaluation of manufactured Kan-ban items: assess reorder points and identify
  • items for addition or removal.
  • Provide support on raw material depletion plans.

THE CANDIDATE

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial
  • Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 5-8 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination (lighting or electronics manufacturing a plus)

Skills:

  • Possesses expertise in ERP systems such as IFS and AX and is skilled in utilizing procurement analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and conditional formatting.
  • Understands production workflows, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routing structures.
  • Profound understanding of capacity planning , lead time management, and material requirements planning (MRP) is essential.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French) preferred, if applicable to location.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of manufacturing and lean methodologies.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Leads or/and participates in daily production meetings and scrum-style updates.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
