The GIS Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog for GIS web and mobile applications. They will translate business goals into user stories, serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, and drive roadmap planning in Agile/Scrum environments. This role requires a blend of product leadership, business analysis, and geospatial development expertise, with a focus on delivering scalable, cloud-native GIS solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Define, prioritize, and own the product backlog for GIS web and mobile applications.
- Translate business goals into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, balancing technical feasibility with business value.
- Drive roadmap planning and release cycles in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Define and measure KPIs to evaluate product success and user adoption.
- Collaborate with operations, analytics, and field teams to understand use cases and pain points.
- Document requirements through user interviews, workflows, and system analysis.
- Present complex GIS concepts in a clear, business-friendly way.
- Facilitate workshops and sprint demos to align stakeholders on goals and progress.
- Partner with GIS engineers to develop and support applications.
- Ensure modern DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), and containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) are understood and supported from a product perspective.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 5+ years in a GIS, product management, or business analyst role.
- Hands-on experience with ArcGIS technology, especially web app development using the ArcGIS JavaScript API.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cloud-native applications or microservices architecture.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise/Online administration.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Working knowledge of spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial).
- Familiarity with geospatial libraries like Turf.js, Mapbox GL JS, Deck.gl.
- Product Owner certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe PO/PM).
