Job Title: News Editor (Part-Time) - WFTV Orlando

Position Overview

WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando Florida is seeking a part-time News Editor to join the Eyewitness News team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, someone with a strong television news/production background who functions well under the pressures of a live news environment. This candidate must be willing to work flexible hours including mornings, weekends, and holidays. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with show producers and other station staff to edit compelling local and national news stories.
• Have a working knowledge and understand of non-linear editing techniques using Avid Media Composer.
• Operate various technical systems including but not limited to non-linear editing equipment.
• Help perform clean up and maintenance of Avid system storage.
• Monitor and traffic content to be shared on multiple platforms as well as with other CMG properties.
• Identify issues with incoming content, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions.
• Manage all assigned tasks in a dynamic news environment under tight deadlines.
• Be willing to work all shifts scheduled, including mornings, weekends, and holidays. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must adhere to all station policies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to edit video using a Non-linear editing system (Avid Media Composer a plus). 
• Working knowledge of Windows based programs and the ability to learn other web-based programs. 
• Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
