Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Here at Amazon, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of diversity and inclusion of our teams within the organization.

How do you get items to customers quickly, cost-effectively, and—most importantly—safely, in less than an hour? And how do you do it in a way that can scale? Our teams of hundreds of scientists, engineers, aerospace professionals, and futurists have been working hard to do just that! We are delivering to customers, and are excited for what’s to come. Check out more information about Prime Air on the About Amazon blog (

If you are seeking an iterative environment where you can drive innovation, apply state-of-the-art technologies to solve real world delivery challenges, and provide benefits to customers, Prime Air is the place for you.

Come work on the Amazon Prime Air Team!

Prime Air is seeking an experienced learning & development practitioner with experience in planning, designing and managing complex learning programs – including content creation, implementation, and change management across multiple modalities and formats. The ideal candidate will have experience leading learning initiatives in a fast-paced and often ambiguous work environment; someone who is a proactive problem solver, meticulous, and customer-obsessed. The candidate will be as comfortable working on high-level strategy and design as they are working on implementation.

Key job responsibilities
• Articulate clear descriptions, benefits, and execution plans for managed capabilities and programs
• Create and lead multiple content development projects using sprint methodology
• Select and collaborate with subject-matter experts to identify pain points and articulate the learning objective(s)
• Partner with stakeholders to align learning programs with business outcomes and define measurable impact
• Work backwards from customer needs to design bar-raising learning solutions
• Create engaging course outlines incorporating learner preferences, cognitive principles, and storytelling
• Select appropriate learning modalities balancing frugality with high standards
• Develop content across multiple formats (self-directed, instructor-led, virtual classroom)
• Design performance assessments within the broader curriculum
• Analyze data to determine performance gaps and learning objectives
• Define measurable outcomes for both new hire and tenured employee programs
• Track and evaluate program effectiveness

About the team
We are the Learning & Development team, reporting up through the Quality organization. Our team is organized as program managers who balance demand with capacity and ensure we deliver to meet the business needs, and Learning Experience Designers who create learning journeys and content. This position will support the LXD function.

- 5+ years relevant experience in an instructional design role

- Bachelor's Degree in instructional design, education technology, or similar field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Experience developing and implementing department goals and strategies based on broader organization goal
- Expertise using eLearning development tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, and Captivate.
- Experience designing and developing interactive training materials in multiple modalities including ILT, eLearning, video, and/or job aids
