Job Description
The Facilities Technician will maintain or improve building facilities by making necessary repairs and/or replacing malfunctioning parts and work with outside contractors on expansion/improvement needs. The work will vary, but you will use a work order system to track planned and completed work. Technicians may also be assigned periodically to assist with rigging equipment on trips.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and general infrastructure).
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, fixtures, and facility-related issues.
- Assist with installations, renovations, and building improvements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Support contractors and vendors performing specialized work on-site.
- Perform general upkeep such as painting, carpentry, and minor landscaping as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred. Previous experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical (including 480 3-phase), plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Previous experience with boilers preferred
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong work ethic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- OSHA or related safety certifications are a plus.
Physical/Travel Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and have the physical ability to frequently lift over 50 pounds
