Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Salary Range: Competitive; commensurate with experience ($21-$27/hour)
Location: Multiple properties across Al Sigl Community Campuses (Rochester, NY)
About the Role Join our dedicated Facilities Team at Al Sigl Community, where we help create and maintain accessible, functional spaces for a network of nonprofit agencies supporting individuals with special needs.
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping these vital community spaces safe, functional, and ready to support a wide range of programs and services. From completing work orders and troubleshooting repairs to assisting with renovations and seasonal projects, you’ll be part of a mission-driven team that makes a real difference every day.
Key Responsibilities: • Support maintenance across multiple campuses, assisting in minor mechanical, plumbing, electrical, safety/security systems, and other building related needs
• Maintain and repair building finishes such as painting, wall patching, and repair/replacing floor tiles
• Assist with small renovations, office moves, and seasonal projects (e.g., landscaping, painting)
• Participate in snow removal operations, including plowing, shoveling, and salting
• Assist with repairs to motors, HVAC units, vehicles, and other essential building equipment
• Help to troubleshoot maintenance concerns and support the development of preventive maintenance routines
• Participate in planning for and responding to facility emergencies, such as fire alarms, equipment failure, safety or concerns
• Use the digital Work Order System daily to record and track assigned tasks
• Travel between facilities as needed
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility needs
• Work occasional nights and weekends to support special events or urgent repairs
• Help ensure clean, safe, and well-maintained indoor and outdoor environments
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in building or mechanical maintenance preferred
• Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Experience with snow removal equipment a plus
• Comfortable using computers for work orders and time allocation
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required
